Peace and quiet with old trees and a pond full of calling frogs.
A Northern Mockingbird - who knows what it’s thinking - they are always so busy, it’s difficult to gauge what they are up to, but it is fun to watch and listen to them.
A Great Egret as still as it can be in the breeze.
Sunrise textures and reflections.
Here is another BrownPelican dive that leaves one wondering how they survive the speed and angles that the hit the water with.
One blade of marsh grass away from s decent photo of Saltmarsh Sparrow. They are beautiful little birds camouflaged well in their environment.
Anyone who follows me knows that I don’t post photographs of people, but today is an exception as my daughter graduates from High School and begins her path of studying Veterinary Science. I could never have imagined a more wonderful daughter and am very proud of all of her achievements along the way. Congratulations Sweetheart!!
I just enjoyed the constellation of these Brown Pelican preening on the shore. Happy Friday everyone!
Bobolinks - apart from being a beautiful bird, I love the name and the sharp points on the tail feathers. I don’t see them all that often, so seeing these to was a treat.
A Green Heron about to descend out of sight into the thick marsh grass.
Marsh Wren sing the early songs hidden in thick marsh grass. Every now and then, they will fly up out of the grass to the top for a better view, all the while adding music to the sway of the grass. This little birds song accompanied the sunrise, as a full moon set.
I thought this a fun image - two oystercatchers thumbing their beaks, or are they the security detail at this spot? (Taken from a boat)
An Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin calf was having a great time splashing about next it’s mother, and it was such fun to watch, and every now and then their tails were in unison. Happy Friday!
A Brown Pelican coming in to stun fish as it dives into the water. The impact is tremendous - it is incredible that they can repeat this throughout their lives without breaking something.
The best time of the day IMHO. Peaceful, fresh, quiet and beautiful, and in this case, where the wild things live.
A beautiful Green Heron above the marsh grass. They are very skittish and quick little fliers, and their colors palate is amazing.
A Snowy Egret pauses to inspect a crabs claw that popped up in defense as it waded along the shore. The crab was spared this time.
Cool colors, textures and shadows near the beach before sundown, on a very windy evening. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
